Meet the Wild Season 3 Cohort: Whitney Powers’s Garden Girl Foods

After realizing her family lives in a food desert, meaning they don’t have access to fresh food within 10 miles or more, Whitney Powers started a garden. She quickly discovered the need to teach others how to use their inner city spaces to grow their own foods and find ways to feed their family fresh.

The founder pressure-cans and preserves most of her harvest to provide locally grown produce to inner city families. She uses family recipes and make fresh food available to EVERYONE, especially those in food deserts. City dwellers no longer have to rely on greasy, processed and chemical filled foods.

Garden Girl Foods grows organic, Non-GMO foods and preserves them for you to enjoy anytime as well as teaches children to garden and cook.
